What is Computer ?

Computer full form or meaning is Common Operating Machine Purposely used for Technological and Educational research.

"Computer is an electronic device or machine that collects data, converts it into information and gives it to the user, which the user can understand very easily."

What is Data and Information ?

All numbers, letters and figures fed into the computer by the input device are called data. When we press any word or letter with our keyboard or mouse, then that is our data.

Now when it comes to information, only a meaningful data is called Information.

How Computer Works ?

When you give any data to the computer from input devices (keyboard, mouse etc.), then the computer processes that data through the CPU and gives you an output.

The data that the computer receives through input devices is in binary or machine (0-1) language, which the computer understands and examines or processes, and after processing that data, gives it to an output device. That output device makes it understandable to the users and shows it on its screen or in the form of hard copy. This data is called Information.

Let us understand this with the help of an example, suppose you want to make mango shake, then you will need mango pulp, sugar, milk, and mixer. The mixer will act as a CPU, which will mix all the ingredients well, mango pulp, sugar, and milk are all inputs, and the mango shake that you get is the output. The computer also works in the same way.

What is the basic part of Computer ?

Computer is mainly made up of two parts Hardware and Software.

Any part of the computer that we can touch with our hands is called hardware, such as mouse, keyboard, CPU, printer, microphone, RAM, display, etc.

Software :- There are programs or instructions with the help of which we can get a specific work done from the computer such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Chrome etc. We can't touch the software.

What are the basic parts of hardware ?

Input Device: - Input device is the part of the computer through which we enter data, instructions and some special information into the computer. The main parts that come under input devices.

1. Keyboard:- Keyboard is an input device with the help of which we send data or instructions to the computer.

2. Mouse:- Mouse is an input device which is also called pointing device. The mouse has a pan arrow, with the help of these arrows we send the data to the computer.

 

Output Device:- Output device is the device through which we can see and understand the process data. For example, a monitor is an output device through which the process data sent from the CPU can be understood and viewed. It is a TV-like device with few control buttons.

Central Processing Unit:-

CPU is called the brain of the computer, whose main function is to process the data given by the input device and send it to the output. It is the main part of the computer, which establishes coordination between input and output.

 

Motherboard:- Motherboard provides connectivity between the hardware components of the computer such as processor (CPU), memory (RAM), hard drive and video card. There are many types of motherboards, which are designed to suit different types and sizes of computers.

What are the basic parts of software ?

System software:-

It is the set of programs and instructions that control the functions of the computer and give instructions to perform the work. System software coordinates all the hardware devices. Some of the main parts of the operating software - windows xp, windows 7, macintosh, LINUX and UNIX etc.

Application software:-

Application software is a set of instructions by which the user performs his tasks. Main parts of application software - ms word, ms excel, ms access, ms power point etc.

What are the advantages of computer ?

High Speed ​​:- The computer is capable of processing a lot of data at a very high speed and is capable of performing a lot of calculations and logical tasks.

Accuracy :- Along with the fast speed, the computer performs its every calculation and work with 100% accuracy, provided it is given the right input.

Automation :- Computer is an automatic machine and it has the ability to do any given task automatically. Reduction in paper work – Working with computer, we get rid of paperwork and process any work.

Readiness :- Contrary to human nature, a computer is free from monotony, fatigue and lack of concentration. It can work continuously with the same speed and accuracy without any fatigue or apathy.

Internet Resources :- With the use of computer, the user can access web resources and services from all over the world through the Internet.

Computer Network :- Through computers connected to a computer network, the speed of communication between two people, sharing of resources increases and it becomes possible to work together even while living in different places.

Versatile talent :- Computer is a very versatile machine. Can be used to solve problems related to various fields.Computer is a reliable machine.

What are the disadvantage of computer ?

Cyber ​​Crimes : - In today's day, a lot of cyber crimes have started increasing day by day through computers, crores of people are becoming victims of fraud every day. Some computer savvy people are robbing people by using the computer wrongly, which is a type of crime. Some hackers are hacking someone else's computer and stealing the data and misusing it.  With the advent of computers, crime has also increased, it has some advantages but also some disadvantages.

Virus : - Virus is a type of programming code that after entering your computer executes with some of your original program and then crashes that program so that your program works in a good way.  Can't run.

Viruses can come in the computer in many ways like through internet, through any external storage device (like pen drive, mobile etc.).  Some programmers steal some of your important data by sending harmful virus programs to your computer.

 Health Problem :- Today's people keep using computers throughout the day, which has become a kind of problem for the people, such as loss of eyes, obesity in the body and many types of diseases also arise.  Whenever you use the computer, take a break of fifteen minutes at an interval of one or two hours and stay away from the computer for some time.

 When you sit in the same position all the time or for a long time, it makes your muscles hard, which is harmful to your body and at the same time there is no proper blood circulation throughout your body.  Due to which it has a bad effect on your body.
